Grow organically in the greenhouse

Gardeners who wish to grow their own organic vegetables have been encouraged to do so in a greenhouse.

According to organicauthority.com, cultivating food under glass can be a great way to give growers complete control over how they protect their plants.

While it will not eradicate weed and pest problems, using a greenhouse can be an ideal way to get tasty, healthy food without paying supermarket prices.

The website gave a number of tips for producing fruit and vegetables successfully and organically, including using greenhouses with natural materials, such as glass and timber.

It is also important to use high-grade organic soil, compost and other additives. However, each plant has different requirements in terms of the earth it is grown in, so bear this in mind when choosing products.

Sterilising soil can be useful for getting rid of toxins and this can be done by putting it in an oven roasting bag, adding a little water to dampen it and heat it to 170 degrees for 30 minutes.

In other news, the founders of YourGardenShow.com recently thanked a San Francisco design firm for its help in making the website a reality.
