Following the recent announcement that gardenology.org has now posted in excess of 10,000 articles, another website for greenhouse growers has sprung up.
TheGardenGeek.com is a new online community for horticulture enthusiast, which launched yesterday (August 12th).
Site founder Patrick Albin explained ten million US citizens took up garden and greenhouse growing in the past 12 months.
He stated the online resource allows those people to connect with like-minded individuals and share knowledge.
“Not only do gardens provide health, economic and environmental benefits for our daily living, but the aesthetic value and peace of mind they offer help people find calm and serenity in their typically stressful, chaotic lives,” Mr Albin stated.
He added the example set by first lady Michelle Obama is likely to encourage more people to take up the pastime.
The kitchen garden started by the president‘s wife has been mirrored across the pond in the UK, with prime minister Gordon Brown and his better half Sarah founding their own plot at Downing Street.
