Gardeners in California are gearing up for one of the west coast‘s main gardening events.
This week sees the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show take place at San Mateo Event Centre.
Beginning on Wednesday (March 18th) and ending on Sunday (March 22nd), the show will present garden and greenhouse enthusiasts with the perfect opportunity to pick up some useful growing and design tips.
Among the highlights of the show will be a display from the Bonsai Society of San Francisco, as well as a class with master Bonsai teacher Tim Kong.
There will also be more than 80 seminars available on everything from making the most of small spaces to eco-friendly gardening tools.
Also on show will be a range of new plants that have recently become popular in California.
The selection has been chosen by the California Horticultural Society and a number of experts will be on hand to distribute advice on caring for the specimens.
San Francisco‘s show follows a similar show by the same organisers in Seattle last month.
The Northwest Flower and Garden Show took place from February 18th until February 22nd.
