Hartley Botanic Teams Up With The Prince’s Foundation

Britain’s leading glasshouse designer and manufacturer, Hartley Botanic, has announced a corporate partnership with the Prince’s Foundation, the charity established by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to help transform lives through engaging, educating and empowering people.

Hartley Botanic, whose craftsmen have been creating superior horticultural structures for private gardeners, large estates and institutes since 1938, will take a special interest in the Prince’s Foundation’s new Landcraft initiative which is part of the Building Skill in Craft programme and aims to educate people on the benefits of green spaces and encourage their use at community and individual levels.

The company has provided a Patio Glasshouse for use within the Prince’s Foundation’s exhibit, “The Prince’s Arts & Crafts House”, at the 2012 Ideal Home Shows in London and Scotland, after which it will be moved to its permanent home in the garden of the Natural House at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Park in Watford.

Hartley Botanic Managing Director, Johnny Mobasher, said: “I am truly delighted to be supporting and involved with the Prince’s Foundation whose work in promoting sensitive and sustainable development is vital to the well-being of our society in this helter-skelter age. We share a common desire to create beautiful structures and green spaces – and, by encouraging the practice of horticulture, to improve the quality of people’s lives and their communities.”

Prince’s Foundation Chief Executive, Hank Dittmar, said: “We are grateful for Hartley Botanic’s support and are fortunate to have found a corporate partnership that helps us to promote our belief in the importance of green spaces to communities.”

As the partnership progresses, both Hartley Botanic and the Prince’s Foundation are looking forward to exploring a design for a sustainable glasshouse.
